I found this book to be the most useful and helpful book to me that I have ever read on this subject. He clearly explains the causes of behavior that we as parents struggle with. Most importantly to me, he begins with the idea that "people who can behave, will" and continues to advise that if there is a problem, that we, the service providers (his words encompassing all those who take care of the service users), should accept it as our problem, and therefore empower ourselves to change it. He then gives us techniques with which to do so. I truly did feel empowered by reading this book. I feel I now have the knowledge and ideas I need to approach difficult situations, and keep everyone safe and calm and in control of themselves. I have been recommending this book to all of my daughter's service providers as well as other parents. It's life changing.
