I absolutely loved Fightgame by Kate Wild. It was action packed, there was always a lot going on, and in the end you are hanging on Kate Wild's every word. It was exciting and adventurous, and by the time you've read the first chapter you feel in tune with Freedom Smith's emotions and desires. It is also scary in some places, especially during the end, where Freedom, Java and Ant all care for each other's well being. This book should appeal to children and adults of all ages, as it is funny, scary and full of action all at once. For me it's definately 5 stars!

I think this book is great, not only is it easy to read, but keeps you on your seat. Am a woman and Dyslesic, so it is inportent the kind of book I pick.

It was intresting, reading about gypsys and with the Supernatral twist to it, it is brill.

Packs a Punch! 8 Jun 2008
By Last Mango - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
In short, action filled chapters, Kate Wild delivers up an exciting book with interesting, fresh characters. Freedom, aka Fred, a gypsy boy with an urge to fight and an urge to stay out of trouble finds himself lured into an illegal fight ring in which he is called upon to sort out his loyalties. With a style reminiscent of Stormbreaker (Alex Rider Adventure) and other Anthony Horowitz adventures, there is plenty of suspense and action between police, bad guys, questionable characters, and the protagonist. Contrary to what I feared, fight scenes do not over power the book, and there are some colorful, strong female characters to round out the story. One word of caution, there are quite a few "PG rated" swear words, but they fit the story and, unlike some young adult books, are not included just for shock value.

Although a few of the plot twists seem improbable, Fight Game is a great read. Hopefully the hint of a sequel will become reality!
