I thought I'd got the other book, wanting to read what everyone else was, but having made the mistake, I thought why not read the parody first? I can assure you that Vanessa's claim that we all turn to the dirty pages of novels repeatedly is not so in my case. 'Dirt' is not my daily sustenance. I approached this book with some trepidation - I had risked shocking my son. After all classics are classics and I was not sure I wanted to know what Mr. Rochester did with Jane Eyre, nor witness the deflowering of Pooh bear. This is a masterly work, well written, hilarious and silly. What a mind Ms Parody has, she can turn any situation into sex. Original, entertaining and naughty. Whatever happened to 'No sex please, we're British'. You'll never be able to think of any novel in the same light again. Unless you are a complete prude or easily shocked, you'll enjoy this.
