HASH(0x9f163510) out of 5 stars Ideal for students of politics 16 Nov. 2008
By George Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I wish I had read this book whilst I was studying political philosophy. The book contains 50 very short essays on the most important thinkers and schools of thought. None of the essays is enough to truly understand the detail of a single philosopher, but is fantastic at giving an over all framework of what each philosopher argued and how all the thinkers relate to each other. The writing is clear, concise and non-technical which makes it easy to understand. However with this said, it also makes it a little dry at times.

Overall I thought this was an excellent read, great overview and very clever.
