This is a very readable book - it isn't just modern educational thinkers like Vygotsky and Piaget, but you also find out what Heidegger, Wittgenstein, Foucault and Habermas thought about education. For some reason they aren't in alphabetical order, which makes it slightly awkward to find who you want, but otherwise a great book.

It is what it says. A synopsis of each of the educational theorists covered, well written though and cross references similar theorists or introduces opposing theorists.

Great book that really gets you thinking about your approach to teaching. I would recommend this as a great read for primary teachers but mostly as a reference book to point you in the direction of the works of the greatest modern thinkers in education. Certainly a good place to start

Simplifies to the point of not really learning anything from them.... It would be more accessible if it introduced them by their core concepts and thus provided thinking tools - to much bio info...
