Book Description

3 May 2010
Me and Dad? Well, we're on opposite sides of a gaping fault-line - No, actually we're on different planets. Rory's dad is a struggling singer-songwriter and is obsessed by one rock'n'roll hero. Despite years of failure, his music is all that matters - nothing else: not job, not money, not even family. So Rory's home life is unpredictable enough. But when his two best mates hook up with his dad to release a music viral, everything flips.

"* On her last book Sugarcoated, the bookseller said: 'True to form, Sugarcoated is a caustic, abrasive thriller that burns to the heart of adolescent angst.' * On The Drowning Pond the Guardian said: 'Bitingly plausible... a gripping page-turner.' * On Skarrs the Guardian said: 'A novel that is both troubling and inspirational.' * On Fat Boy Swim, The Times said: 'Powerful, empowering.' The Sunday Telegraph said: 'should be force-fed to every secondary school child in the country.'"

Format:Paperback
A quick read. It is about Rory and his dad who just can't seem to get along. Rory is studious and doing well at school whereas his dad wears outrageous clothes and is a struggling singer. Nothing matters to dad except music - so he rarely works so mum has to work all hours and it begins to really get to her. Dad and his two mates somehow manage to come up with a tune with goes worldwide and makes them famous
