Another absolute gem from Mr Stone. I thoroughly enjoyed and identified with this book and I would highly recommend it to anyone with an interest in alt.culture or anyone who happened to be out raving and clubbing in the late eightees or early ninetees. A real blast. Was gutted to finish it. BUY THIS BOOK!

Just finished reading C.J Stone's book Fierce Dancing and think it's absolutely brillant. Maybe a bit too unstructured and descriptive at times but certainly a must for students and clubbers.

I can't believe this book has had only two reviews so far: I read it seven years ago, just as I started writing myself, and it made such a lasting impression. Here is a writer who is obviously an insider when it comes to alternative, underground British club and music culture. Strangely not many books or novels have been published about that heady time when millions of people were on the dance floor, taking drugs, exploring alternative realities. Fierce Dancing will take you there and make you understand the Zeitgeist of that era - without preaching he will show you what it was all about! I am a big fan of his hub pages as well. Check them out after you bought this beautiful book. They are awesome!
