5.0 out of 5 stars Nephilim fans couldn't ask for more, 2 Jan 2003
This review is from: Fields Of The Nephilim - Revelations / Forever Remain / Visionary Heads [2002] [DVD] (DVD)
This disc is a revelation (excuse the pun) for Fields Of The Nephilim fans. Collecting everything they ever commited to vhs (most of it very hard to come by these days) onto one very reasonably priced DVD and even throwing in bonus videos from the singles released post-FOTN by Rubicon and Nefilim you really can't ask for more.
The picture quality is a big step up from the old vhs tapes, although the concert footage still has that grainy, shot on videotape look to it, the sound's cleaned up nicely and there's no denying Fields Of The Nephilim were top of their game at the time of their split in the early 90's. The two concerts show just how much they grew as musicians during their career and prove that it was a shame that they split up when they were on the verge of hitting the big time.

This is a superb package for the ageing goths out there, and the younger ones who were too young to see the Nephilim live should watch it just to see that there's a lot more to musical intensity than the power chords modern bands lean on for effect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome live performances from the Nephilim., 14 Jun 2004
This review is from: Fields Of The Nephilim - Revelations / Forever Remain / Visionary Heads [2002] [DVD] (DVD)
Amazing live footage and a spattering of promo videos combine to make this one of the best music DVDs I have seen for quite some time. The live shows come across as atmospheric, stylish and very well performed and all the classic songs are there. Anyone who owns Earth Inferno will know that FOTN perform an amazing live set and this DVD is no exception.

There are also videos of the Nefilim and Rubicon, and although I prefer the original FOTN songs over their later incarnations, these are welcome additions.

Buy now before it sells out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Out of the deep my child, out of the deep..., 22 Feb 2003

This review is from: Fields Of The Nephilim - Revelations / Forever Remain / Visionary Heads [2002] [DVD] (DVD)
This is the Nephilim at their best! Carl McCoy's gravelly voice shrieks out from 7 videos and 2 live concerts and there are bonus tracks from the Rubicon and Carl's Nefilim. What more could a fan want? Well sadly the videos could do with a bit of digital remastering and the sound is only stereo and not 5.1 but all in all its enough to make you dust off your docs and search for the sumerland again...
