2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty dull 14 Jan 2012
By RichT
Format:Paperback
I dare say this has all of the 'required' information to master hockey, but my main criticism would be the very dull text-rich format with little useful pictures or diagrams. Bought for my teenage daughter so not as 'inspirational' as I hoped in that regard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide for coaches and players 8 Sep 2007
By Colleen Brown - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I played field hockey about 9 years ago and recently my arm has been slightly twisted to coach middle school hockey. I had forgotten all the basics of the game and this book is a quick to the point guide. I like the pictures it provides and the drills. My goalie coach who had never even seen a game before has been able to use the book and apply it to coaching my goalies. I definitly recommend this book whether you are a coach who is looking for a break down of skills or a player looking to improve your game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Improving Your Field Hockey Game 22 Sep 2009
By Escoffier - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I purchased this book for my Granddaughter (Age16) who is exceptionally good at the sport. While still in the 10th grade, she was elevated directly to her High School's Varsity. When she entered the 11th grade, she became Co-Captain, although not a Senior. She has told me that the book was a great help, and that even with her current knowledge, she has picked up pointers that have helped her improve her game.
