Product Description

Field to Farm is a book that explains how to live on agricultural land legally without the need for planning permission. Thousands of copies have been sold and we have a vibrant forum community setup as after sale support for people using the system outlined in the book. This book is unique, not only in its content on the whole planning process of creating a smallholding, but also in the support that is given on the web site. We realise that not every circumstance can be covered within this book and for this reason the author or forum members will answer any planning questions that you may have via the internet forum. This also gives you access to other members experiences as they are using the system at the moment. So please visit the forum after you read this book and spend some time reading through the posts. Only the people who have purchased the book will have access to the forum, this access is by pass word so when you log on have this book at hand. Also on the web site is the largest listing of agricultural property in the UK, so if you are looking for land or anything agricultural it's a one stop shop. If you do decide to pursue your dream of living on the land, creating a smallholding and eventually getting permission for a permanent dwelling, you are going to be involved in the planning system. The implication of this is that you will need to comply with the system of planning laws that are current in the UK. This may not fit in with your ideals of creating your perfect smallholding. To be successful in ultimately gaining planning permission for a permanent dwelling you must start and run certain types of agricultural enterprises. The success of this business is the only way you will be allowed to live on the land permanently.

I bought this book 2 Aug 2011
Format:Paperback
I bought the book firstly because it gave me membership to the Field-To-Farm forum and secondly I thought it would give me an overview of planning law with respect to small areas of agricultural land. The forum is an extension of the book and also helps answer practical questions like how do you get the postman to deliver your post to your field. I would say the book is really only useful if you are serious about establishing a farm. If you are simply entertaining the idea it is likely to bring you down to earth with a bit of a bump. I felt it helped me to work out what were my options with the four acres I have.

Format:Paperback
Found this book clear and informative with every aspect of setting up a small holding, found the planning advise in particular very enlightening and informative, written concisely, i liked not having not having to read through a lot of waffle as it gets right to the point in clearly titled chapters and paragraphs. A must have if you are setting up a small holding or even already are a farmer!
