Product Description

Product Description

Written by one of the UK s leading consultants on pain control, this authoritative, yet easily comprehensible book, delivers a high level of understanding and practical advice to the lay reader. Highly recommended.

Manage your Fibromyalgia by becoming an expert patient.

There really is life after being diagnosed with fibromyalgia or myofascial pain syndrome...and yours starts here.

The lack of knowledge which surrounds two of the most prevalent illnesses in the world today means that they can often go undiagnosed and untreated for years, during which time both the mental and physical condition of sufferers can deteriorate considerably.

With the right care, there is much that can be done to help anyone with these conditions to improve their quality of life dramatically. The first step towards that is by doing precisely what you are doing now, educating yourself.

Within the covers of this book, you will find an easy-to-read and practical guide to dealing with fibromyalgia and myofascial pain. Dr Chris Jenner takes a straightforward and down-to-earth look at what these two conditions are about; how they might affect different aspects of your life; what your options are; and how you can get on with your life.

About the Author

Dr Chris Jenner has studied for many years in the field of pain medicine and works with sufferers of these and other chronic pain conditions in his roles as consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at St Mary's Hospital, London, and as Director of London Pain Clinic.

One of the things I know from suffering from pain is that most healthy people just don't get it. When you can't go somewhere or you hurt so bad all you want to do is rest, it frustrates other people. I liked this book because it offered solutions. I felt like I could get some of my movement and life back. I recommend this book to those who are dealing with chronic pain caused by these conditions. It is easy to read and follow and provides enough help to get you back on track.

Fibromyalgia is one of those conditions where little hard evidence can be easily found unless you want to go directly to medical research papers. In this book Dr. Jenner has taken the very complex and technical research information on this disease and turned it into language that anyone can easily understand. Both practical as well as highly research based this book is a must for anyone dealing with this potentially debilitating condition. If you think you have the symptoms or if you have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia or myofascial pain syndrome this is the most informative book you can find for getting on with your life and being able to talk to medical professionals, your family and friends about the condition.

A fascinating insight into little know disorders which frequently go undiagnosed. This is a book that everyone should know about if they suffer from persistent ailments such as aches and pains, migraines, sleep deprivation or even memory loss. Jenner offers solutions to these problems and reveals the real reasons behind their existence. It is an invaluable self-diagnosis.
