This is a facsimile edition of the 1902 original, an A-Z gazeteer of feudal coats of arms, from Abbehall to Sir Thomas Zouche. The arms are described in heraldic fashion - "bore, gules, a lyon rampant or" (being the arms of Sir John Talbot). Some understanding of heraldic design is required to picture the arms, but there are 800 black and white illustrations to help you through this. An excellent reference work for anyone interested in the medieval era in England, whether family historians, brass rubbers, wargamers, modellers, etc.
