5.0 out of 5 stars masterpiece! 10 Oct 2013
Format:MP3 Download|Verified Purchase
visceral and thrilling, wildly complex yet blissfully dumb at the same time, melt banana continue to evolve yet never really change, all their songs are fast, all their vocals are shouted, everything is very noisy, it should all sound the same, I should be bored with it by now, I certainly should have grown out if it, but as usual succumb, willing, joyfully, another terrific record from a band that make most rock outfits sound like purveyors of muzak for shopping malls

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing band, great album 16 Nov 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Received 'Fetch' today from Amazon and haven't done much beyond listening repeatedly - It's great - One of Melt Banana's finest works. If you haven't heard the band before, this music is wildly inventive and seriously energetic. I find it hard to sit still with these songs in rotation.

Guitarist Agata creates all manner of melodies and frenzied riffs with his vast collection of FX pedals. Yako's voice is unique as ever - Her chirrups and shouts give the music a cute and loveable quality. The drums and bass guitar are often delivered at breakneck speed with violent precision. Some of these songs will cause injuries at gigs. However, my descriptions will never fully do them justice - Nobody sounds like Melt Banana. You really need to hear them for yourself. Suffice to say the energy in this music is incredible.

If you like your music to be traditional and formulaic you may find Fetch abrasive, but if you want great music with boundless energy, this album is a shiny jewel on a beach full of grey pebbles. I love it to bits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best album since Cell-Scape 15 Nov 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Yako and the lads are back at last, and not before time. A bit more refined that earlier albums, but Fetch still shows that classic wonderful mix of strangulated squeaky but oddly powerful vocals from the lass herself backed by MB's signature full-on loony rock with its underlying beautiful musicality.

Stand-out track for me is "Zero", so good that the album includes two versions.

Fetch is superb. If you're into Melt-Banana, buy this album. Let's hope there's not another 6-year wait for another.

5.0 out of 5 stars Turning Japanese 8 Feb 2014
By droflim
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I'm turning Japanese I really think so! This will give you the Vapours! Crazy, brilliant, manic, funny, exhausting, a creative armageddon. I thought Ruins were good in this genre but this lot top them. This is my first outing with Melt Banana and will surely not be the last. Exhilarating. 5 stars for sheer audacity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, Noisy Melodies 14 Oct 2013
By Eric Titus - Published on Amazon.com
Chances are, if you've looked up Melt Banana, you know what you're in for.

On the face of it, Fetch is noisy, fast, and chaotic. But this album, much like Cell-Scape, is oddly enjoyable, melodic, and fun to listen to. The bass is strong and thumping; its melody and rhythm propel the songs forward. The guitar and drum tracks experiment with noise and paint an abstract picture of rock. The vocals are high and staccato and whirl the songs into a flurry.

If you're into noisy music, or if you even fancy yourself open-minded, check this album out. It's fun and different, definitely one of the highlights of Melt Banana's discography.

5.0 out of 5 stars they're back! 2 Oct 2013
By Frank A. Perna - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
it's been about six years, but Melt-Banana hasn't lost a step- in twelve songs and just over half an hour you get a pretty succinct tour of just about every style they've ever embodied. the songs are noisy, fast, joyful and somehow melodic. down to two people now, but just as good as ever- here's hoping it's not too long until the next album.

This is pretty crazy and kinetic like you'd hope from them, but is also strangely beautiful. I really loved this one!
