One of the best films that I have ever seen, watched it becauseof the actors/actresses & they gave one of the best performances in a long time. It is not an obvious great film however the dark comedy & the fantastic links betweeen characters make it easy to watch & thoroughly enjoyable. Would recommend it to fans of comedy or just great films.

Festival is an excellent film, introducing a range of characters with depth, humour and a degree of darkness. From Joan Gerard (Daniella Nardini) as a jaded reporter, a great turn from Chris O'Dowd and a suitably shallow Stephen Mangan as comedian Sean O'Sullivan, we see all sides of the characters. Worth watching for the award ceremony alone. The movie covers a lot of ground at a rapid pace and gives a valid representation of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as it has become: more of a comedy festival for comedians craving celebrity than the wealth of artistic possibilities that it once was. This may be unpalatable for some, but this hard hitting film is both funny and unrelentingly on target. Highly recommended.

I missed this when it first came out, only catching it sometime later. It is one of my fav British films in years. It is set over the course of a few days during the Edinburgh Festival and follows the different career trajectories of an assortment of stand-up comics and aspiring actors... and those around them. It's not the best film in the world, it's not the funniest but I enjoyed it a lot.. enough to buy the DVD.
