Good Diet, Unsure if it'll Help With Fertility 20 Feb. 2014
By Karen D Prescott - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
At first, I was soothed by this book's grasp of basic human anatomy and their willingness to share simplified explanations with the readers. The suggestion that you simply maintain a healthier lifestyle came across as very logical without being preachy, a fact bolstered by their mentions of consulting your physicians, getting moderate exercise, as well as charting your fertility by getting closer in tune with your body. It goes through several fertility hiccups such as going on and off birth control, differences in menstruation, chronic diseases, and briefly mentions male fertility and factors that might affect virility. Overall though, these are all facts one could easily look up by picking up a textbook or perhaps perusing the internet.

As for the diet itself, this cookbook does not seem to take well into consideration the fact that many pregnant women experience cravings for things other than cruciferous vegetables, quinoa, and legumes, cravings that, perhaps, even a portion of "hazelnut butter and banana sandwich" won't satisfy. The portions are small, the ingredients are not always going to be in your kitchen, and the meal plan leaves little room for leeway. If you shop according to the meal plan then you'll be set, but make sure that you've got plenty of time to spend in your kitchen making these items. This book reads much more like a generic diet book with a long preamble at the beginning about fertility.
A Great Book for Those Interested in Getting Pregnant 5 May 2014

Overall, this book does a good job explaining fertility and how to enhance your chances of pregnancy in a natural way. It was very easy to understand and gave clear descriptions for the reader. The format of the book with its use of subtitles makes it very easy to read. In addition, I was glad to see a section on fertility related to men since fertility is usually seen as a woman’s problem. The recipes included in the book seem like a great start to being healthy and increasing your chances of pregnancy.
Great resource beyond basic diets as implied by the title 24 April 2014

Appreciate the descriptive statistics as well as references to actual studies supporting the author’s advice. Uses a lot of technical language that may not be readily understandable to general audiences and maybe not so much those who are just beginning to explore fertility, but the included glossary helps tremendously. The advice on making charts to keep track of all the variables is excellent. Tons of tasty food options, easily worked into every day diet. There are almost innumerable factors that affect fertility and this book covers just about everything someone who is starting to dig into the subject would need to know. A good read for both potential mothers and fathers to check out!
Another tool to use when trying to get pregnant 23 April 2014

There's nothing more frustrating than when you're trying to get pregnant. There are so many factors that can influence the process and it's an emotionally difficult time for any couple. When my wife and I were trying to have a baby, we explored all sorts of things and I wish we had been able to read this book back then. The book suggests a diet that might help the fertility process and at the very least will get the mother healthier in general. The information is the book is laid out very well and it makes a lot of sense. It's a great resource for any budding parents or couples just thinking about having a baby.
All you need to know 22 April 2014

I like how this book targets the overall health and well-being necessary for your most fertile potential and chance to get pregnant. Knowing your cycle and your own body is important, and this book goes into great detail about the do, don't, and myths surrounding fertility and conception (and don't worry there is advice for the men too!). I would recommend this book to anyone trying to get pregnant, whether you've just decided to start trying or whether you have been trying for a while without results.
