Book Description

7 July 2010
Fertile thinking is a unique, practical guide for women experiencing difficulties conceiving. Unlike other books that provide medical or nutritional advice alone, Fertile thinking aims to help women gain a sense of control over the process and feel whole and happy. Drawing on coaching tools and techniques as well as Anya's expertise in her field, Fertile thinking provides practical exercises, tips and advice that offer couples who may have given up hope a renewed sense of possibility and purpose. According to the Assisted Conception Taskforce (ACT), one in every six couples worldwide is currently experiencing difficulties conceiving, and IVF specialists predict this could increase to one in three. Support currently available to such couples includes counselling, websites and helplines (such as the Infertility Network), and books which often focus on diet, exercise and complementary therapies. Fertile thinking takes readers on the journey from diagnosis of infertility to a place where they can feel happier and more in control of their lives. Thousands have testified to the positive effect Anya's sessions have had on their lives. Some of those stories are included as inspirational case studies within the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is about more than pregnancy. 15 July 2010
Format:Paperback
I'm totally biased - and when you've read Fertile Thinking you will be too. It's an outstanding, down-to-earth, thoroughly practical(!) book written to support any couple going through the psychological ups and downs of fertility treatment. But it is more than that. It raises the spirits, motivates, inspires and encourages.
I've been in touch with Anya throughout her 'fertility' career (she trained as a coach with Powerchange) and am regularly impressed with her knowledge. The media are too - Anya is a highly skilled coach and has written widely in magazines and national newspapers.
Buy the book and you'll love the read, but more than that you'll begin to feel different: supported, back in control, stronger, hopeful. Fertile Thinking produces just that: fertile thinking. It's a 'must-have' for those going through the fertility treatment process, and an enlightening book for all those who have anything to do with women's health.

5.0 out of 5 stars Help on your bedside table 24 Nov 2010
Format:Paperback
So far I have read huge amounts of information about IVF but 'Fertility Thinking' is a practical and informative guide through the emotions of treatment. I have found reading the case studies interesting and inspiring. I have already started using some of the tips for managing my stress and anxieties. It has made me feel a little less isolated and is giving me the tools to stay in control of my own life. I am very grateful to Anya for all her support at the Clinic and now I have her on my bedside table. Thank you.
I would recommend anyone going through the stresses of fertility treatment to read this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book 18 Aug 2010
Format:Paperback
Fertile Thinking is a crucial reading for those going through fertility problems. Anya Sizer has an easy, clear and very attractive writing which makes this book not only an emotional but also a practical guide to help people understand and accept that it is not always easy to get pregnant. Her extraordinary personal experience and career as a fertility coach are an inspiration and example that whatever happens, it is important to take control of the situation.
