Book Description

20 April 2007 Stories of Ferrister Major
Lord Ferrister finds a Circus introduces us to the people of Ferrister Major, a quiet village set in the English countryside. It is named after the present Lord Ferrister and his ancestors who have lived in Ferrister Hall for three hundred years. Lord Ferrister had led a rather solitary existence since leaving the army as a young man and inheriting Ferrister Hall from his father. Then, quite unexpectedly he joins forces with four stranded members of a travelling circus and they change each other's lives for the better, proving the worth of friendship, hard work and mutual respect in the process. Then there's the eccentric donkey and his raven friend of course, who could ignore them?

About the Author

Anthony Molyneux is married and lives with his wife Pauline in rural Shropshire close to the border between England and Wales. They have three children, seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is an established author of publications for business and has written for children in the past. Anthony believes that there is room for more traditional stories for young people, which can entertain without frightening or confusing them with tales of elves, goblins, witches and the like. Ferrister Major Books are about believable, if slightly larger than life people, who know how to enjoy themselves whilst upholding the traditional values of friendship, mutual respect and good teamwork.

I enjoyed reading this story so much. It has a very enjoyable storyline, with charming characters that develop their personalities throughout the book. It is all described so well, I can see each character, hear each voice and understand each emotion. It was a book that I just couldnt put down. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Escapism! 29 Sep 2007
Format:Paperback
Lord Ferrister is a wonderfully eccentric character, from a long-fogotten age of chivalry, courtesy, and community-spirited fun. Readers will quickly be drawn into his special world of unusual comrades and adventurous plans, and will learn important lessons for life, from the ways in which he and his friends deal with the challenges they face.
Lord Ferrister's stories are the perfect antidote to 'shoot-em-up' video games, and designer kiddy-wear, where who you are is much more important than what you have, and where make believe is the first step to believing in yourself.
