Siphon the bottom by using specific aquarium gravel cleaners. To clean the inside of the aquarium, use the special floating magnetic brushes. To clean the outside of the aquarium, avoid detergents of chemical substances: a sponge soaked in distilled water with a few drops of vinegar is ideal. Add demineralised water to replace the one which is lost by evaporation as soon as the water level approaches the minimum. The water level should always be between the MIN and MAX levels. Monthly replace 5-10% of the aquarium water with demineralised water. For an excellent light spectrum, it is suggested to replace the fluorescent tubes every year. To replace a tube, first remove the plug from the electric power socket, remove the hatches and slide the overtank lamp until you can access to the tubes, then unscrew the two ring nuts on the light fitting. Remove the tube by rotating it a quarter turn until the pins are lined up with the slit in the lamp holder. In the same way, insert the new tube and rotate it a quarter turn untill you will hear a small click. Tighten the ring accurately. For the internal filter maintenance, rinse all the mechanical sponges every 2-3 weeks. For the filter Bluwave 05, supplied with the aquarium Dubai 80, ensure to keep the right order of sponges is maintained: fine sponge top, coarse sponge below. Always keep the filter intake grills clean. Please consider that biological materials should not be washed or removed from the filter: in this way, they will keep their active bacterial properties. Check the pump and clean it in this way: remove the hatches and slide the overtank lamp to access the pump compartment, unscrew the filter top, remove the pump unit, adsorbent sponge and return pipe from the filter, pulling it upwards. Remove the pump from the return pipe, remove the front section and remove the rotor. To clean the pump from impurities, use a soft brush, do not use detergents. Re-assemble the unit and that's it.
