Product Description

Review

A witty story with a clever twist. The animals' facial expressions are a joy in themselves. The Daily Mail 20090213 Chris Wormell is a genius. Angels & Urchins 20090301 Impressively skilful in the way its pictures make the creatures realistic as animals, yet human in their attitudes and expressions, this tale is both delightful and suspenseful and has a punch line that will encourage children not so much to disobey their mothers as to respond without prejudice to the people and creatures they meet. The Times 20090222 Told and illustrated with comedic flair, Ferocious Wild Animals is set to even surpass the popularity of George and The Dragon... a wonderful book! South Wales Argus 20090207 A playful take on some of the dire warnings that parents give their offspring. Junior 20090401 For younger readers, the beautifully illustrated Ferocious Wild Beasts by Chris Wormell is a delight. The Daily Telegraph 20090307 Ferocious wild beasts by Chris Wormell is the delightfully ironic tale of a young boy, Jack, who roams into the forest, despite his mother's warnings, and gets lost... This is a witty story with a clever twist, and while aimed for younger children, Ferocious Wild Beasts has great scope for use in KS2 classrooms. Junior Education Plus --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

The true test of a good book is how bored the parent gets from reading it and re-reading it over and over again. We got this book out of the library and after renewing it 3 times thought I best buy it.
It's a firm family favourite of all who read it to our 3 yr old. Beautifully illustrated, just the right length, and clever enough to keep old and young audiences hooked. We are now devout followers of C Wormell and can highly recommend George & The Dragon and The Sea Monster. Truely gems of books

Maybe not quite as brilliant as Chris Wormell's "The Sea Monster" or "The Big Ugly Monster", but still charming and fun.
