Product Description

This DVD shows a wide range of Ferguson equipment, ploughs, cultivators and disc harrows at work. Ferguson provided a complete system of mechanisation and we see many of the rarer implements in action, including the sub-soiler, rowcrop thinner, crane, dump skip, winch, cordwood saw and hammer mill. Muck-spreading and bale-loading sequences show all the different Ferguson trailers and loaders, illustrating just how extensive the range had become by the 1950s. Nearly all the implements come from Harold Beer's collection in North Devon. A range of Ferguson tractors provide the power, including a rare four-wheel-drive conversion. The programme has a full commentary scripted by Stuart Gibbard, author of The Ferguson Tractor Story. The narration is by radio broadcaster and playwright David Holt.

An excellent video that really takes you back to the 1950s farming methods before tractors became the gargantuan computer controlled machines of the present day. And if you are lucky enough to own a little grey Fergie it serves as an instruction book for both the tractor and its implements! Included in the shots are bits of Fergie kit I haven't even seen before. A really worthwhile buy and look at Parts 1 and 2 as well to get the full picture
