By ELH Browning TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
This is a gentle story of a fox who worries as his favourite tree loses its leaves with the changing seasons. The language is rich and descriptive and the real strength of this book is the enchanting pictures, an appealing little fox, pretty blended autumnal colours changing into the cooler bluer shades of winter and the final page: a glittery delight, a magical icicle finale. Beautiful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely story, beautiful illustrations 30 Dec 2011
Format:Paperback
I 1st heard this story on c beebies bedtime hour and thought it was such a lovely story i immediately tried to source it on amazon. Unfortunately it was out of stock for quite some time but luckily this autumn i managed to order it as a christmas present for my little boy. The story is lovely as the little fox learns all about autumn and the fact the leaves are falling off the trees doesnt mean the tree cant be beautiful, as the last page reveals! My only niggle is i wish i had bought the hardback copy as the illustrations are not as good and does take the edge off it slightly but a lovely story non the less.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful book 17 Oct 2011
Format:Paperback
I read this book to my Reception Class and it is absolutely enchanting. Gorgeous pictures, a sweet story and lots of lovely language e.g. "They [the leaves] tossed and turned and twitched and twirled and tumbled to the ground". I have now ordered the other Ferdie books to read to the children and can't wait till they arrive.
Highly recommended.
