New to the game are a number of features including a 2-D match mode that allows you to watch the game unfold, giving you the chance to manage and change positions accordingly when it comes to passing and shooting tactics. Greater emphasis has been placed on training, and the game gives you the chance to assign specific schedules. This of course gives you even more responsibility in making your players "match fit" for the season ahead, and towards the end of the season your decisions become crucial if you plan to get your boys promoted.
Other new additions include an enhanced contract negotiation system, a more efficient, easier-to-use network play arena and, for those who want it, a skinable interface.
In short, this is the most in-depth football sim you'll find on the market. If you are a footy fan then this game will cost you plenty of sleep. For any fans wanting more from the series, the new features add much-needed elements, though they may just be a distraction to the hard-core stat fanatics that rush to buy this title every time it's updated. If you're a football fan this is a must, and if your not, give it a go; you might just love the nation's favourite game after all. --Jason Denwood

Flawed game,
This review is from: Championship Manager 4 (Mac) (Video Game)
Got this game for my new 1.25GHz PowerPC G4 iMac with 256RAM. Installed it, started to play. Very slow to play on my machine I'd even describe it as clunking. Anyway, got to the stage where I needed to save the game and guess what error messages every time.Maybe it's just me, but I could not get the game to save once. I am a relative newbie to mac's but I have played a few other games on it and have had no other problems. My advice to anyone wanting this game - don't bother. Try CM 03/04 instead and hopefully all the bugs have been fixed.

It's Championship Manager 4, its for the Mac, and its the most addictive game you'll play. If your familiar to the series, its an updated version featuring the usual updated player roster with a few nice changes although quite bug ridden as it was pushed for release. If your not familiar, its basically an advanced text base game where you make changes and sit for hours on end trying to get your team to win. Infuriating, passionate, silly to some, addictive to others but nothing compares to working at your team and watching them win.

This game proves that it is the best and most successful management game ever made. It puts you through many challenges of staying up in the division your in, finance problems, tactics, transfers, training and many more. It has 39 national leagues and more than 200,000 players and staff. It also has a 2D match view so you can see exactly where your tactics succeed and fail. It's a great game, and is definantly worth buying.
