I bought this on a whim, and did not think I would get much use out of it, but in fact are using it all the time. In particular I like the ability to set differing light intensities (these lights are so bright they blind you so you need to be able to turn them down to work in close quarters), and the fact that you can tilt the light is extremely helpful.
Pro's
- High quality, well thought out product
- Really bright!
- Can dim the light to be more effective in close quarters (which is mostly what I use this for)
- Can tilt the light to shine more directly towards what you are trying to illuminate
Con's
- It would be good if it could dim even further as I still find the light too bright when working close in (for example using it to illuminate some wiring you are working on or fixing a car)
- It is quite heavy so you could probably get away with a lighter model if only using for near distances
Really have not used it for wandering around at night, but I would say it would uncomfortable to try and say run at night (too heavy) but would be great for exploring a forrest or tunnel.

OK for running, but focus maybe too sharp for offroad mtb. Can be an intersting challenge trying to attach to bike helmet, but love the range of brightness settings for various tasks.
i have several head torches by petzyl and black diamond who r leaders in head torches and was look at the new cree type led and after reading a revue on this one decided to try something new and have not been disapointed for the price a gteat torch
