Book Description

28 Feb 2013
Less than two years earlier, Leslie Robb, an accountant in her late twenties working for the Imperial National Bank, had seen her life-partner and co-worker, Gina, shot to death during a bank heist subsequently foiled in part by Chris Barry, millionaire and clandestine operative of the government's 'Discreet Activities'. Taken as a hostage along with Chris by the remaining robbers onto a helicopter secretly piloted by two 'DA' operatives, including 'DA' head, Jonathan Addley, Leslie had played an integral role in helping bring the offenders down. As a result, thanks to her sang froid, sense of moral justice and martial arts affinities, Leslie left the world of finance to fight crime as a member of the 'DA' team. Now, Leslie has a new partner in life, Dominique Petit, a Canadian/French dual citizen who suggests Leslie visit Paris with her while she is in the City of Lights on business. Less than twenty-four hours after Leslie arrives, Dominique and her sister, Corinne, disappear, turning Leslie's vacation into her own business trip of justice and revenge...

More About the Author

I was born in Montreal, Canada, at a very young age, where I still live with my spouse, Joanne, under the watchful eye of Krystalle and Midnight, two black females of the feline persuasion. In a former life, I completed my studies at McGill University and worked in various management capacities for a handful of firms for countless years. From there, considering my extensive background in human resources and finance, it was a logical leap in my career path to stay home and write crime thrillers.

My first stab at writing was actually in 1995, the result being my first novel, "Vigilante". Two others of the same series followed by 1997 but all three remained dormant until publication in 2009. Since, besides writing a stand-alone, five other thrillers have joined the VIGILANTE series. I also penned "Something's Cooking", a faux-erotica parody and cookbook under the pseudonyms Réal E. Hotte and Dasha Sugah. I have to say, I'm enjoying this writing gig.

Other interests besides writing and subtly persuading people to buy my books include reading, making noise with my six guitars, painting (oil and watercolour), cooking (year round though I love the grill in the summer), traveling and planning to work out soon. I've also been known to sleep on occasion.

You can visit my website at claudebouchardbooks.com which is almost as fun as DisneyLand and absolutely free.

About the Author

I was born in Montreal, Canada, where I still reside with my spouse, Joanne. I completed my studies in human resources, accounting and management at McGill University and worked in various management capacities in the fields of HR and finance for a handful of firms for what seemed like decades, because it was. I should also mention I love pizza, but who doesn't and, in my opinion, nothing rocks more than cooking on the grill. My first stab at writing was in 1995, the result being my first novel, Vigilante. This was subsequently followed by The Consultant (1996) and Mind Games (1997), all of the same series. Professional obligations and other creative interests led me away from writing for a number of years but I found myself busy at the keyboard in 2009 with The Homeless Killer after having finally published my first three novels. I then followed up with 6 Hours 42 Minutes in 2011, also part of the VIGILANTE series born from Vigilante. In July 2011, I released ASYLUM, my first stand-alone novel and Discreet Activities, my sixth Barry/McCall crime thriller was published in January 2012. In October 2012, I penned and released Something?s Cooking, a faux-erotica parody and cookbook under the pseudonyms Réal E. Hotte and Dasha Sugah. My eighth novel and seventh installment of the VIGILANTE series, Femme Fatale, was released in late February 2013. I think I'm really starting to like this writing thing. Besides writing, editing and promoting my work, I also spend some artistic energy with my five guitars, oil paints and watercolours. Other passions include cooking (big time with fine wine to go with it, of course), reading, traveling and working out just enough to stay fit. It should also be noted that following several years of practice, I now excel at being cat furniture for Krystalle and Midnight, or so they tell me. Visit at http://www.claudebouchardbooks.com

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost as good as the rest of the series. 7 May 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read all of the Vigilante series and although some are better than others, they are all well worth reading. This story is based around the character 'Lesley Robb', who joined the Team after her girlfriend was killed in a bank robbery.
She now has a new French girlfriend and goes to stay with her family in Paris, but before she arrives, Dominique and her sister are kidnapped from a night-club.
Dominique's father has many connections and he and Lesley look into the kidnapping and realise that getting the girls back will be beyond them alone, so John, Chris and the rest of the Team come to her aid. This story is one based around the trafficking of girls from Europe to Africa.
I do not want to give away what is a fast-paced, exciting story, but as is usual in these books, the good guys come out on top, even though there are tragedies on the way.
I enjoyed the book very much. Perhaps not quite as much as some of the previous books, and would have given it 4.5 stars if possible. If it was the only book in the series I'd read, it would have got 5 stars, but I know some of the books are just a bit better!
It is quite possible to read this book without having read any others of the Vigilante series, but it is so much better when you have read them, in particular, Vigilante and perhaps The Consultant.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Thriller 3 Mar 2013
By Yvonne - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Leslie Robb flies to Paris to meet up with her partner in life Dominique, for a small vacation. Too tired to join her lover and her sister for an evening of dancing, she awakes the next morning to find Dominique and her sister Corinne have been kidnapped. She phones Chris Barry and Jonathan Addley to recruit their help along with the girls father Henri, to find them... no matter who she has to take out to do it.
They find out that there are many girls that have been kidnapped and been taken to one of three of Mustapha Kaddur's villas keeping the girls drugged up and used for sex.
With the the DA on the case the bad guys don't stand a chance!
Once again Claude Bouchard has keep me on the edge of my seat until the very end!! I could not put his book down, wanting to see what was next.....
Leslie has made a great partner with Chris and Jon and fits in marvelously.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Killer. 28 Feb 2013

Bouchard does it again.

Another phenomenal chapter in the VIGILANTE chronicle and another great journey into the cunning mind of Claude Bouchard. If you've read any of the other books in this great series then you need to read FEMME FATALE now! And if you haven't then you still need to read FEMME FATALE now!

As with all the books in the series, the strength lies in the characters Bouchard creates and the way they interact with each other, dancing together to weave a wondrous tale of espionage and death, this time in Paris.

Leslie Robb from Discreet Activities returns as a heroine searching for her partner... and maybe a little revenge along the way.

Great story from a great storyteller. Stop reading this and start reading FEMME FATALE now!

5.0 out of 5 stars VIGILANTE Addiction! 7 Mar 2013

Claude has done it again in this latest book in the Vigilante series. Once I opened the first chapter it was impossible to put it down until it was over.

Leslie Robb the heroine in this book has turned into one of my favorite characters and I truly hope to see more of her in the future. As with all of Claude's characters, she is someone you feel like you know personally. I am always amazed at the depth of personality he portrays with his characters.

Kudos Mr. Bouchard! Your quick wit and mesmerizing storytelling keep me coming back for more!

As always the vigilante books are fantastic reading. I just love how they go about it, sorting out problems and I mean big problems for nice people. I only wish this book wasn't fiction and people like Barry existed!
