First Sentence
All through the twentieth century, from the suffrage movement, through writers such as Virginia Woolf, then Simone de Beauvoir, to the writers in this collection, feminists have not been content to allow political and economic analysis to stand alone, but have always provided it in conjunction with critiques of cultural structures and production. Read the first page

Excellent source Book 18 Oct 2008
By S. Livingston - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Huge number of theories covering a wide range of aspects of art and feminism, a little dated as most eesays date from the 80's and 90's, but still an excellent source for any artists, gender studies, social sciences student and educators. Many must read essays included, truly fascinating.
Excellent Reference Text by Maryann DiEdwardo 26 July 2011

In my current scholarship, I use the important quotes and references to enhance and to project the importance of art to feminism. The quotes have enlightened me and inspired me to write and to paint with joy. Collections such as this work will promote art, writing, and feminist thought. The Passing Light
