Having read and quite enjoyed Erotic Surrender, this autobiographical account of Ms Varrin's venture into the BDSM play scene in England left a bitter taste. As a professional in the scene, it seemed quite surprising that she bad mouthed fellow players, expressed overt jealousy if a female sub was getting more attention than she was and displayed "do me queen" behaviours shunned by the community (e.g. she pretended to be a cello, using a cane as a bow to attract the attention of a dom who wasn't in the mood to cane her at that moment). She is a very attractive woman, who frequently mentions this without any modesty whatsoever (e.g. "I look great in that dress") and seeks out to entrap her new master whilst again portraying a nasty edge towards other players (she referred to a sub Esme as "woe Esme"). She also mentions frequent use of drugs, which other BDSM authors of note advise not to use during play sessions, as you need to be focused. This was quite disturbing considering Ms Varrin is a prolific figure and an alleged "professional" in the world of BDSM. You would honestly expect that in her career as a professional dominant, she would have more empathy towards tops and the responsibilities they undertake. Whilst I'm on my soapbox, our English chocolate snacks are called "Malteasers" not "Maltpleasers" dear... All in all, this account was very disrespectful to genuine players in the scene. Unfortunately, Ms Varrin, you will not be receiving any royalties from this direction after reading this.
