I purchased this product as I needed to install a beta software upgrade on my Humax PVR. Along with a USB to Serial adaptor, this cable allowed me to connect my laptop to a serial 9 pin socket. The cable itself seems perfectly well made. And I was able to upload the software and fix my PVR!. All in all, a perfectly good product and well worth the money.

This is not your ordinary modem cable ! , Its used for shunting data or in my case upgrading a freeview PVR`S Firmware via Hyperterminal
I Bought from consolelectrics one of Amazon`s partner agents & for something that in my case would only be a one time user interface between P.C & Hardware box found just what I wanted a good price + Reliability.
Most people fight shy of firmware upgrades because if it goes pear-shaped, the equipment is kaput. I can say the upgrade was succesful and so I can endorse this product & the delivery was quick too! Bill Cameron

The cable is fine and a decent length. The pins are easy to insert and solid when fitted. The service from the supplier was great I ordered on a Wednesday and it arrived on the Thursday.

Functional
Was as expected. The only downside is the securing screws are not tool-less. However if your like me and never do them up any way that's not an issue.

handy cable
Needed to link set top box to PC. I did have to get 2 different connectors from different suppliers to link male serial to usb, but the combination seems to work.
