This book has been adapted from the screenplay and translated from French. Female Agents should have been an exciting story detailing the heroism that the SOE agents displayed during the second world war. I have no problem with the story line, a little far fetched in places but that is what one would expect in a fiction book. Briefly - five women are thrown together to carry out an SOE mission at short notice before D Day. The mission of course goes wrong and the women end up in Paris trying to rectify the mistakes....

The problem lies in the absymal writing! It read as if someone had watched the film and very quickly written down what they had seen. The story jumped horribly in places, leaving the reader to go back a page and check they hadn't missed something out. Being kind it is possible that something got lost in translation. However, a lot of the basic rules of grammar that get taught at primary school were broken throughout the book. As a result the reader loses the plot!

A hugely frustrating read. Avoid like the plague.
