I had a similar copyholder to this one, at work a few years ago and it was fine. I like many features about it, the way it swings at an angle to come closer to the screen, the clear sentence marker and the little shelf at the bottom which holds the paper in place. The one thing which didn't work for me though, was that it adhered (literally) to the screen with a sticky back adhesive strip. This is very strong and holds the weight of the copyholder (which I feared perhaps it wouldn't) but it is now more or less permanently stuck on. If you want to remove it to move the computer screen some place else or just don't want it on, you would have to yank the thing off or presumably apply some form of dissolving agent - and then couldn't put it back on again? The previous one I owned had a clip on device which meant you could take it off the screen if you wanted, adjust where you wanted it each time, or just put it on a different side of the screen. If the fixing had been non permanent in some way this would have been near perfect for the function intended.

Update on 29 June 2011, this device has now crashed off the side of the screen and fallen to the floor! Don't think it would go back, the sticky strip is no longer very sticky - so pretty useless. Definately needs a re-design in the way fixed to the screen.

3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't actually work for my monitor setup 12 May 2011
By M. Williams TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This paper holder is well made, robust, will last a long time, and is not unattractive.

It relies on a sticky pad that can be rotated from one side to the other that is intended to stick to the edge of your computer monitor, or a suitable flat surface sideways on to your line of sight.

Unfortunately for me the LCD monitor that I planned to attach it to the side of just doesn't have a surface that is sufficiently big and appropriately textured for the sticky pad to stick to. This meant that it didn't work out for me.

To figure out if it's right for you, look at the edge of your computer monitor and consider whether a sticky pad would hold this device, with whatever papers you have clipped to it, in place, day in, day out.

3.0 out of 5 stars Economic and Functional 23 Jun 2011
By S. Thomas #1 HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is a straightforward item to position paperwork alongside your PC screen. When I am typing and constantly referring to text I find that looking down at my desk and then up at the screen can cause eye strain.

There are more expensive solutions (two monitors with a scan of the reference document on one and type on the other) or Dragon dictate (just look at the document not the screen); however, if you are a heavy duty typist this is a keep it simple solution and will probably help maintain good posture/reduce slouch as well as lessen fatigue due to eye strain.

It won't win awards for elegance and is going to be a fixed item because it attaches to a PC by way of a (discreet) strong adhesive pad to the back of the monitor. Nevertheless, this is an ergonomic solution to a latent problem if you spend long hours typing whilst cross referencing source material. This won't eliminate the need to refocus but will reduce the extent to which the eyes have to repeatedly accommodate to differing focal lengths.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great desk aid 23 May 2011
By L. Hennessy TOP 500 REVIEWER
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This unit is easily assembled, and made from plastic. It is attached by a sticky foam pad onto the side of your monitor - this is my only concern about this product, as it would be so much better if it had a clip of some sort rather than sticky foam; I haven't tried removing mine from the monitor yet, in case I can't put it back on.

It makes it a lot easier to look at the screen as well as the paper - rather than having to look down at the paper on the desktop, as it is in the same eyeline with your monitor. There is a clear transparent sliding 'ruler' on the front of it, which underlines which bit of text you're working on.

We have been using these at work for about two years now, and they are a good work aid - they keep the desk tidier, too. The Health and Safety Nazi insisted upon us using them, claiming that it was good for our backs. I don't really follow that argument, but this device proved more useful than I'd have credited it for. It gives a good impression to the boss, too!

Bought for my husband, every time he put something on to copy it slipped off the monitor, so he wasn't very pleased with it.

Works well but then falls off. You then need to stick it back on with Velcro. Seems to be still ok

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
Worked well for a week but then fell off the side of the monitor and won't stick back on. Sticky pad is just not up to the job. Don't waste your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor performance
This item was a disappointment, the glue did not stick to the surface, it fell off almost straightaway, I could not returned it since I had disposed off the box.
