5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute "MUST HAVE" album if you like David Paton! 2 Jun 2014

Whether you're already a fan of his solo music, or if you're a fan of his band Pilot, or as a lead singer for The Alan Parsons Project, Camel, or Beagle Hat, this is a really incredible album. After only three listens this album is definitely my favorite of his solo works. It has all the elements I already love (moving vocals, a lot of feeling, catchy songs & excellent musicianship) but this one seems to have a bit more of a progressive rock edge that is classic sounding, but with a modern touch especially in the excellent production. The lyrics even seem to go a bit deeper on this album, which didn't surprise me with an album title like "Fellow Man" and the opening symphonic instrumental piece. The songs are poignant and have a lot to say. (I'll let the listener derive the specifics on that)
1.0 out of 5 stars Unbearable album with weak songs & soft new age arrangement/production 6 April 2013

Since the 1970s, I have been following the work of David Paton. His songwriting and musicianship has been showcased with Pilot, Keats, The Alan Parsons Project and even his work as a bassist for Elton John. David Paton has also worked with Paul McCartney, Jimmy Page and The Pretenders, an accomplishment very few musicians could make in a lifetime. Naturally, I prefer Pilot and David Paton's solo works. "The Search," Paton's debut solo album, remains a true masterpiece due to consistently high quality songs and a rock edge. Sadly, this solo album is not even worthy of 1 star. Paton gets this score due to fan loyalty and the fact that Amazon's rating system sets 1 star as a minimum rating.
2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't fly 5 Aug 2008

I love Pilot, every album had something to offer. Twos a Crowd was a pop ear candy masterpiece. I wanted to love this CD. I LIKE IT. Don't feed me "hes older and this is more personal" I am older too, thats why I wanted to hear the bright pop sound that I have grown to love. Too mellow too much of the time. "Crazy' is cool AND HAS A ATITUDE. More needed like that. David's last solo effort had better songs, but again, too mellow. Rock it up a little bit. Still I had to have it and glad I downloaded it.
