Patricia Mc Connell's books were recommended to me by a dog training forum and I'm so glad I've discovered her. This book was exactly what I needed to help keep my terrier mix from spiralling out of control at the sight of another dog. As the authors say in the book, it is designed to help deal with dogs who need help whilst walking on the lead, it's not a catchall dog aggression book. The tone of the book is supportive and you don't feel as if you are being lectured. The strategies are practical and broken down into simple steps. The authors encourage you to work with your dog rather than chastising it and knowing that both authors have Ph.Ds made me feel that I was following the most modern, positive methods backed by scientific evidence. If you have a dog with issues on the lead this book is well worth a read.
