CD Description

Feelin' Groovy, HARPERS BIZARRE's debut LP, was originally issued by Warner Bros. Records in April 1967. The album feautured the two biggest singles of the band's career: the Billboard Pop # 13 hit `The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy),' and the Top 40 `Come To The Sunshine.'

Produced by LENNY WARONKER (Van Dyke Parks, Randy Newman, Beau Brummels), Feelin' Groovy showcased songs and/or arrangements by Randy Newman, Leon Russell, Van Dyke Parks, and others.

This DELUXE EXPANDED MONO EDITION features the original mono mix of the album, which has been out of print since 1967. Also included are 5 instrumental mixes.

The CD also includes the entire released output (7 tracks) by the pre-Harpers Bizarre band, THE TIKIS.

The 16-page, full-colour booklet includes rare, unpublished photos and extensive liner notes featuring the participation of original band members.

Makes you Smile 24 Dec 2011
By Mr. Glenn Cook TOP 100 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD
I first remember hearing Harpers Bizarre many years ago on a BBC children's Programe called Zokko!
Zokko was a pin ball like robot that played tunes when th balls hit the bumpers.

(I kid you not along with Space Patrol I cannot be the only bloke that remembers these things.... Can I??)
Anywho I heard Feeling Groovy and was hooked.

I defy anyone with two ears (or even one for this is in wonderful Phil Spector heaven Mono) to listen and not to have a smile on their face when listening.
No one and I mean no one bettered Harpers Bizarre at harmonies (well maybe Brian Wilson's Beach Boys I'll give you that).
Simply they made songs and music wonderful.

I have several Harpers Bizarre Cds and each and everyone brings a smile to my face.
Wonderful songs follow like Simon Smith and His Amazing Dancing Bear (not written by Alan Price who had a UK hit with it but rather Randy Newman so take note of the songs true meaning!) Other songs follow and you re taken away to a better place by the wonderful singing and harmonies and that can't be all bad now can it??
