Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Much was expected of Roachford when they first hit the music scene in the late 1980s, principally because they were one of the first British black rock groups to get mainstream media coverage. Brimming with radical rock tunes, Roachford had the potential to take on the world's rock elite. Almost 10 years after their debut, their fourth album, Feel, sees them exploring more mellow, soul-inspired territory. Acoustic guitars replace the electric variety and the vocals are toned down on the album's 11 tracks. Thankfully, the group's ability to write catchy, addictive melodies remains, and their lyrics are still innocuously intellectual. As their simple one-word song titles suggest ("Flow", "Down"), their music is free from any unnecessary packaging. The tracks "Time" and "Someday" are truly heavenly. --John Galilee

Bought this CD after hearing the single "Naked without you"... definitely one of my better buys! From the gritty and powerful "Testify", to the beautiful "Time", this is one GREAT album from a much under-rated soul singer. Buy it and listen - you won't be disappointed. Amazon... PLEASE add "listen to samples" for this CD!!!!

When Roachford came onto the scene in 1988, they were a fresh urban soul band, who could be accused of being ahead of their time while being contemporary. This album really continues what they have done since 1988 and the original self-titled album, which sounds dated nowadays. More pop-soul than anything else this time, after they have had flirtations with soft rock, jazz and even something bordering on country. It has it's bad tracks but no Roachford album is perfect, rather inspired instead. I can't dislike this album, though I don't like it as much as Permanent Shade Of Blue eventhough this album has a better sound.

A complete smash 22 Nov 2011

I lost this cd somehow, sometime back and when I discovered it's loss I was devestated. So imagine my joy when I had enough pennies to buy another copy :-) Yep pure joy from start to finish. Such an underated artist in terms of record sales and visibility but apparently he's still performing in pubs etc. Now that's the sign of a real musician - one who doesn't sell out and allow themselves to be exploited by a record company. Music is for everyone, it belongs to the world and this certainly does & we are blessed to have this chap providing us with some of the very best. Ballads and up tempo numbers meld beautifully together & lyrically I am sure he speaks for all of us whilst in/out/between etc love. Hey if you have the cash - just take a chance. What have you got to lose? All music is worth a listen at least once and in my humble opinion you won't just play this album once but again and again and again live I have - enjoy :-)
