Let me be frank - I am a fan of Susan Jeffers. She has a knack of putting my jumbled thoughts into clear, eloquent language that gets the message across without being verbose.

The Feel the Fear Guide to Lasting Love is thought-provoking and definitely does not promise to offer quick-fix solutions; this is no literary snake-oil! The clear message is that each individual has a responsibility for their own love life; regardless of what those around us are doing, the reader is encouraged to live in a loving manner. How can we receive love if we are not willing to give it?

I like to think of love as a verb rather than a noun - it is actions that count. This is a great read for anyone whether they are in a relationship or want to be in one. Buy it!

A superb CD of the book with the same title. If everybody, single or married would read, understand and learn from Susan Jeffers wise words we would all be happier, loving, kind and generous to each other. Beautiful voice to listen to, very calming and reassuring. You will greatly benefit from reading "Feel the fear and do it anyway" as well. That book is a great starter/introduction to Susan Jeffers books.
A must-have CD for life.

I find this book really helps in terms of overcoming your own fear. It helps to read about the emotions which one has to go through in doing different things and also understanding what steps and actions to take. This book will really grow you as a person and also growing stronger. I would recommend this book.

Lasting, unconditional love is probably the one thing that we all really want and need in our lives yet it is probably the hardest thing to actually receive. Most of us look to others to prove their love for us. We test them and measure them against some Hollywood version of what true love should look like. When our love doesn't quite look like that fantasy, we immediately begin to blame our significant other.

Feel the Fear Guide to Lasting Love reminds the reader that healthy lasting love comes in many different forms. There is no one right relationship and no perfect romance. Lasting love takes commitment, communication, and effort. Moreover, in order to feel love, we need to take fear of rejection and finger pointing out of the equation entirely. A healthy relationship is based upon genuine respect for every aspect of your lover, even when you don't quite understand it.

Reading this book gave me goose bumps and made my mouth drop open - Ive been having major relationship problems but couldnt work out why. "Feel the fear guide to lasting love" was like looking into my husband's brain!! At last I finally understood what he has been thinking all this time.

Susan's relaxed writing style is clear, easy to read and full of amusing examples. Some things she says are a bit difficult to swallow, but I guess that is an indication that you need to change your behaviour. For example on the one hand she says to stop arguments with your partner you have to bite your tongue and instead of screaming back say that you will do what they want because you love them - but on the other hand she also says you mustnt be a doormat!! Hmmm. In essence its all about cutting ties to childish behavour and growing up. Well... what Ive been doing so far hasnt worked so its worth a try!

Susan was definitely put on this earth to give us the tools to find peace throughout stressful times and the knowledge to discover our soul mate... who might just have been in front of us the whole time, we just didnt know it.

I definitely recommend this book to anyone whether your relationship is stable, strained or non existent. At various points throughout the book you will find yourself thinking: "OMG this is me - why havent I been doing this long ago??!!". Im just sad that it was taken me so long to realise my mistakes... I just hope its not too late for me.

Susan's first book entitled: "Feel the fear and do it anyway" is also amazing and worth getting. Keep both by your bedside and read often!!

There are such strong themes in her book that resonate with my own: we all fear taking risks; you can only be responsible for your own happiness; and most of us have either had unrealistic expectations of our partners or had unrealistic expectations placed on us by our partners. I enjoy a very successful relationship with my transgender partner and when I read Susan's book I realised why. I had made all the mistakes in my previous relationship and now tick all the right boxes with my current partner, against all the odds that others expect from our `Love Less Ordinary'. I woke up, realised I wasn't living my life for me, and took many of the risks Susan talks about in this book, and now live my life free to be me and share my whole self with my partner as a result. - Laura Newman, author of `Love Less Ordinary: Sharing Life, Laughter and Handbags with My Transgender Partner'
