Since becoming a(n almost) vegan, I've read a lot about food, diet and nutrition. This book is good for an overview of how to eat healthily, and the information is helpful for vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike. However, I would think that anyone who is already a vegan or vegetarian would already know much of the information that is in the book. I didn't learn anything new. It would be more useful for someone who has just become or is thinking about becoming a vegan/ vegetarian. But it does make for a good quick guide for when, for example, you forget how much calcium is in an ounce of almonds.

3.0 out of 5 stars So and so 7 May 2010

I didn't finish reading the book. It seemed like the author tried to make the future mothers to believe that vegan diet can be good for the babies. I don't think I would need this type of reassurance. I'm 100% sure that vegan diet is perfect for all humans.
Author mentioned also that vegan diet is full of folic acid however future mothers can take it just in case. I don't see a point.

Anyway, some people can still find this book interesting as it gives some basic information about nutrition in vegan diet from pre-conception through to pre-school.
