Trek as it should be 27 Jan 2001
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This book is Trek as it should be. It covers a timeframe from the 1990's to a far, far, far distant future. The plot involves love, hope, duty, honour and a villian whose hatred has 'gifted' him with a warped form of immortality. Seperated by time, Kirk and Picard deal with two men and one woman who have shaped and who will shape history for generations. Plus Borg, Romulans, The Presevers and warp theory all are involved in this amazing, brilliant, beautifully written book.

Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is the best Star Trek book I've ever read. It covers both Classic and the Next Generation, but also the past too. It's very intelligently writtian from a scientific basis, many parts of trek science are explained along the way, but it's never too complicated or boring. It even explains where the federation logo comes from (it's a graph of warp travel energy and speed). It was published before First Contact came out so there's a few conflicts with the life of Z Cochran, to now established Trek lore. I'd rather believe this book to be honest.
The book is very well written, the discriptions are very good and you often feel as if you are there watching the action. It also conveys the authors obvious love of science fiction, space and the characters. A Classic book I'd even recommend to non Star Trek fans. The common faults of Star Trek are largely absent from this book.

Oustanding literature 15 Jun 2009
Format:Hardcover
Outstanding Star Trek book; in the top three, possibly the best.
An excellent piece of general literature, so much so, that J&G R-S are authors that I am pursuing to great satisfaction in other lines of fiction, such as Ice Fire.

This book is written by two authors who I aspire to in terms of their absolute thoroughness for detail and research.

Great Sci-fi
Not a great fan of ST books, but this was incredibly true to both series, in regards of the story, the portrayal of the characters and STs essence. Roddenbery would have approved.

Boldly going
Written before First Contact, it's interesting how many commonalities this story has with that. There's Borg technology, there's Zefram Cochrane, the guy who started the Star... Read more

In a way it's a pity that this is a Star Trek book, because it means a lot of people that might have read it in fact won't. Read more
