This book is very useful if you want to have a good overview about the different techniques of feature extraction and image processing. What doesn't provide is a straight solution from the raw image to the feature detected.

While the book covers most of DSP and CV theory, it focuses on the Math aspect of DSP making it difficult to follow pages and pages of mathematical formulas.

easy to understand 9 April 2011

I like this book because its easy to understand the descriptions of the math and they dont assume the reader remembers all the math from years ago. I think some books over complicate simple methods by only using mathematical formulas, but not this one. So if you dont like all the math formulas with way too much omitted, this is the book for you. It's practical for the engineer, but maybe not meant for the researcher.
Image processing wise it is not complete but it contains a lot of useful stuff.
