Format:Hardcover
This beautiful book of delicious recipes is a real treat. The way that Mridu Thanki has written out the combination of family and adapted recipes is thoughtful, clear and very welcoming. The food that we have cooked from it is just fantastic and some of the flavours remind one of the real tastes of food that we all long for. Her personal anecdotes give us the context that really bring the food to life. It is leagues above many of the "bog standard" recipe books, which may well have the shiny photographs but lack the personality and skill that Mridu Thanki delivers. It is incredibly well laid out with illustrations that fit with the style of the book so well and it is a piece of art in its own right. I would recommend this book as an essential part of anyone's kitchen - whether a novice to indian cookery or an expert widening their repetoir. It is a joy to behold.

Delightful cookbook 30 Dec 2010
Format:Hardcover
This is a wonderful and unique cookbook, with delightful illustrations and easy to follow instructions. The author's voice and personality shine throughout. The recipes we have tried have all been delicious. Would recommend to all. It's especially good to have such a book produced outside of the usual publishing houses.
