Following the departure of both singer and drummer, the Autumn Offering soldiered on with new vocalist Matt McChesney and percussionist Allen Royal, allowing the reinvigorated metal ensemble to put a slightly different spin on its heavy-yet-melodic approach with 2007's FEAR WILL CAST NO SHADOW. Showing no signs of transitional awkwardness, the Florida-basedgroup charges ahead with blistering thrash-influenced post-hardcore tracks such as "From Atrophy to Obsession" and "TheCastaway".

The autumn offering third album is also the first with new vocalist matthew mcchesney,and this has enabled the band to become even more melodic as they try and gain the success that many a metalcore band has achieved,will they get there with this,probably not,but nonetheless this is still a cohesive and good smack at trying to get there.
This is more metalcore than their previous two releases which had metalcore traits but a hardcore lining,this features strong choruses for the most part alongside speedy drumming and screamed vocals with loads of the standard clean vocals along with melodic and memorable sing along choruses.
So with all that in mind its fair to say that the lads are not wearing new shoes when it comes to doing anything different and that leads to comparisons and that leads me to stating that bands have done this so much better but as i alluded to earlier this isnt the worst either.
You would have to go all the way to track seven of this album to find an overly generic track so thats impressive,and then the album picks up again before a dull sounding 'march of the clones' with a chorus that shows that the backing singing is a bit average,the album closes alright but with maybe 3 songs being a bit weak then this gets a 3.5 out of 5,no bad thing,but the signs are certainly good.
