5.0 out of 5 stars Brain Food.. with beats!, 22 Sep 2009
This review is from: Fear of Night (Audio CD)
It is genuinely refreshing to hear some music that actually has lyrics that mean something and reward you if you take the trouble to listen to them in their own right.. the great news is, if you want to just chill out and let it wash over you, it will have you tapping along in time before you know it! If you want an album that delivers pop classics along with deep and meaningful song-writing, buy it immediately!

5.0 out of 5 stars I live in fear no more, 28 Aug 2009
By Snikwas (Hamburg) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fear of Night (Audio CD)
I am lucky enough to have heard Relation's first album before it's official release, and I can reveal that it doesn't disappoint. The two singles "Superenlightened" and "Your Tiny Mind" in original are stand-out tracks (the former was chosen by Pete Tong as record of the week and was a DJ favourite in Ibiza last summer), but "Optimistic" and "Lowest Common Denominator" are just as great. Song writer Leary and singer Keech seem to have created, from a huge orgy of great 80s and 90s electro pop, the lovechild of Human League, New Order, Depeche Mode, Spandau Ballet and Underworld amongst others. The intricate melodies (MELODIES!), synths, beats and thoughtful lyrics will have you foot-tapping, whistling, dancing and eventually, somewhere on a train or in your car, singing out loud that you "live in fear no more". Deserves to be played loud and often.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a cracker!, 12 Nov 2009
This review is from: Fear of Night (Audio CD)
Fear of Night is great. There are some real crackers on the album, particularly Fear of night, Way outside, Hypersensitive and In minuscule (which is one of my favourite songs ever!). The music is really interesting with lots of influences coming through to create something new. The music is very moving in places. I love the lyrics which are often very poetic and thought provoking rather than a lot of other contemporary songs which just don't say anything. I think the subject matter covered is very relevant in the current economic and social climate and I think a lot of people will identify with them. A great album.
