Product Description

Product Description

Why would a nurse’s aide terrified of heights hurl herself from a twentieth story rooftop in Queens? Why would an attractive librarian with a water phobia be found naked and floating facedown in the Astoria Park swimming pool? How did the scantily clad body of a young bookstore clerk with a horror of snakes end up inside a Central Park Zoo cage with a two-hundred-pound python? NYPD Detective Max Segal, strung out from a devastating divorce, is determined to find the killer before more women die.

A sadistic ex-con who masquerades as a shrink is seducing phobic women into psychic hell and literally scaring them to death. When Max Segal picks up the killer’s trail, Max’s new girlfriend is chosen to become victim number four.

Like Love Kills and Exes, Dan Greenburg’s previous bestselling thrillers, Fear Itself is a terrifyingly realistic, darkly humorous, startlingly sexy, street-tough page-turner with a surprising climax.

About the Author

Dan Greenburg’s seventy-three books have been translated into twenty-four languages and include the two previous bestsellers in the Max Segal series, Love Kills and Exes. Dan has also written the humor books How to Be a Jewish Mother and How To Make Yourself Miserable, as well as many movies, TV shows, and Broadway shows. He’s been a stand-up comedian and a tiger tamer, among other things. To research Fear Itself, Dan spent two years with NYPD homicide cops, going to crime scenes and autopsies to check out corpses, accompanying detectives on high-speed car chases and door-busting arrests. Dan also spent several weeks doing research in maximum security prisons, interviewing convicted murderers in their cells.

5.0 out of 5 stars A roller coaster ride 7 April 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, very glad Max and Babette are over. Fast paced, heart thumpingly good. Andy is all too charming, a very frightening psychopath. Wouldn't want him knowing my fears!!! Can't wait for book four. If you want a book that you won't want to put down, as you want to find out how, why, what, when, who, then read this book. I do not give spoilers so just trust me, read this book. You won't regret it.

3.0 out of 5 stars third in the trilogy 31 Mar 2014

I bought all three in the trilogy and this one was disappointing. Maybe should have stopped at two or moved on to new characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for the next one please! 25 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Read all 3 in the series back-to-back, ended up feeling I really knew Max Seegal and all his foibles and women-troubles; the suspense is well built and there is an underlying sense of humour throughout all 3 books; start with the first and see Max grow in his relationships and detecting skills
