This movie could have been better, but it fails to deliver as it is so unoriginal. It's all been done before in "Darkness Falls", a movie which this film shamelessly emulates particularly in the sound effects department.
It is slow to develop which is a shame because when the monsters do finally appear they are quite horrible!
It IS worth viewing and it IS entertaining - just don't expect anything new or anything challenging.
As for the plot, well as I said - if you've seen Darkness Falls then you've got most of the plot clarified already!
A young boy has experienced nasty monsters whenever he is in the dark so he has developed a phobia which no one sympathises with. One night he and his older brother are left alone in the house and, blow me down, a power cut occurs. Cue nasty monsters and cue "running for your life". Only staying in the light will save you.
Only staying in the light will save you.
Is there an echo in here? NO - no echo, just a dose of Deja Vu.
This is indeed Darkness Falls slightly repackaged, but not as well crafted.
It'll pass the time but little more.
