'The classic English village mystery is alive and well and living in Gloucestershire' Sherlock Magazine --Sherlock Magazine

Product Description

Following a string of disastrous house-sitting assignments, and an equally troubled personal life, Thea Osborne is understandably apprehensive about her latest commission: a wintry month in an isolated house with only an assortment of animals, including her loyal spaniel Hepzie, for company. With the summer lushness of the Cotswolds turned icy grey, Thea spends her first few days exploring the beautiful hamlet of Hampnett, meeting some of the locals. But then the weather turns extreme, and so do events. When she stumbles across a man lying dead in a snow-covered field, Thea finds herself once again at the heart of a mystery.

Compulsive reading 22 Oct 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Having read all the previous Cotswold Mystery series this is the best so far. It is a book you find difficult to put down until you have finished it and then you wish it could go on for longer! You really do feel as though it is snowing outside and you are in the midst of winter. Very good story telling as usual with the characters coming to life on the page. Would recommend.

I have read all of Rebecca Topes books and as a frequent visitor to the Cotswolds know a lot of the places in them, This is another Rebecca Hit, following Thea and Hepzi on another house sitting! Its an excellent whodunit and keeps you guessing right to the end ! You end up wanting to do the house sitting with Thea to see what she uncovers next ! Excellent!

This is the first time I have read one of Rebecca Tope books, it was a gentle read but did not grip me. I am not sure I would buy another.
