In 2011, Grammy Award winning guitarist Peter Frampton embarked on a world tour celebrating the 35th anniversary of his multi-platinum selling live album Frampton Comes Alive! . This double DVD release contains footage from shows at New York City s Beacon Theater and Milwaukee s Pabst Theater. The first disc is the Frampton Comes Alive! album performed in its entirety whilst the second disc focuses on tracks from Peter Frampton s more recent albums such as Fingerprints , Now and Thank You Mr Churchill along with a nod to his past with the inclusion of the old Humble Pie track I Don t Need No Doctor . Peter Frampton remains one of rock s most iconic guitarists and these live performances catch him at his very best. 3 hours of Peter Frampton playing his Fca album in its entirety plus a second set of newer material.Picture and sound are both excellent and one thing I particularly like is that he does not play his guitar solos note for note rather he improvises quite a lot. Some people dont like this but I think its understandable considering the number of times he mus have played these songs. Some interesting extras and Peter I like your cats.

I was fortunate to get hold of a ticket for the New York half of the concert at the Beacon theatre , i didnt know untill i got there that they were filming it, I was up in the nose bleeds but what a show! He absolutly nails every song, after 35 years he is still so comfortable on stage, his voice is as amazing as ever and his guitar playing was tecnicaly brilliant! I have waited 10 months for the blue ray to be released and what a suprise, the producers captured all of the power, exitement and atmosphere of the night.
The sound is stunning and the camera work is perfect, I really felt i was there again to watch him bring the house down!
One of the most recomended music dvd's to come out in years....Superb!!!

Well filmed, sounds great on Blu Ray, he does ALL of the Frampton Comes Alive double album (longer solos, louder), he's clearly enjoying himself, the band sounds great and are very tight, the crowd is enthusiastic, and then he does another 90 minutes or so of more recent material that is excellent, including a long version of George Harrison's While My Guitar Gently Weeps and a revisit to the Humble Pie days with I Don't Need No Doctor/Four Day Creep. He's older and has less hair, but he's using the original guitar from 1975 (the bonus on the blu ray gives you the full story). What's not to like about this nostalgic 3 hour show?

Although i am perhaps not a huge fan of all of his music, when "Frampton Comes Alive" came out 35 years ago it was one hell of a live album that went on to sell millions, and now we arrive in 2012 where he does look his 62, but it is an amazing snapshott
of where P.F. is now. You get a number of his classics and some material from his latest releases, and also a surprise he brings his son on for a couple of numbers which is quite interesting, brilliantly filmed a a treat for fans.

To all you rock fans out there, this a must for you! A masterpiece in all aspects....

An amazing performance by Frampton & Band, It's totally amazing what a pristine & great guitarist Peter Frampton is. After so many years his Voice & playing is better that ever.

About the DVD itself, It takes a Musician & a Music lover to understand exactly what a "Rock Concert Home Viewer" needs when sitting at home watching a Concert DVD.
The Lamoureux brothers have done it again.... After seeing the Zappa Plays Zappa & Rush/Snakes & Arrows DVD's (that I have)

They have managed to capture & produce another masterpiece in terms of Concert Film & sound. As a home viewer it's a great pleasure to watch & listen to this great show .

The only "bad" thing I can say about this is. in the BluRay version it comes in a ANNOYING Digipak cardboard pack !!! WHY???

This Bluray is brilliant, a bit more subdude that previous versions but none the less as a musician he is precise and skillful . If you want a more action packed "raunchy" version then go for the 1995 concert from the Fillmour, equally as brilliant but it rocks a bit more. This 2012 concert show off his musicianship and entertainment value. He involves his audience in his work and appears to enjoy his work 100%. Frampton has alway been a prefectionist in his art and this concert is no exception. Frampton Comes Alive is one of the all time greatsand so it should be, this concert show a much more mature approach to his skill which he obviously trasures. For me Peter Frampton has always been at the top of his trade, his previous DVD Live in Detroit is also excellent but for me the track from Frampton Comes Alive will always be the best. I have to admit to still listening to and enjoying Herd songs from way back, From the Underworld to mention just one. What will happen when all these true musicians when they have gone, luckily I am of his age so will be gone too. Lets hope he tours the UK someday before then as I and so many others would race to get tickets. The appearance of his son Julian although a nice gesture did not add anything to the concert. His music style did not appear to be the same as his Father and no doubt many who would view this concert.Peter Frampton looks every day of his 62 years but remains a nice bloke!!

One critism, I prefer his old band line up, the late Bob Mayo, John Regan and John Robinson, they seemed to have more feel for the music and were all character in their own right

beautiful musicianship, good quality recording and camera work, and, of course, personality of Peter Frampton - everything makes this DVD a valuable piece of art
