If you like creepy horror stories and new versions of old tales, this is for you. Well-written, funny and oh so terrifying. Also the ending of the title story is a real kicker.

Kate Harrad has an alarming style of prose that manages to be engaging and lighthearted whilst dealing with some gruesome subject matter.
Each and every story lulls the reader into a false sense of security whilst simultaneously foreshadowing an ultimately satisfying and often disturbing end. The stories are all well paced and whilst I can see them being a little dark for some. Certainly for myself they proved (along with her first novel 'all lies and jest') unputdownable.
Please publish more I am beginning to suffer withdrawals.
