I have listened to various versions with varying degree of pleasure.
Some versions nearly 'have it', some are nowhere near. There are simply so many average versions. What need to be captured are the peaks and troughs the beauty and the power. I am no musicologist but this version is near perfect, it has it all. Sublime, superb, look no further, you will not be disappointed.

One of the definitive performances of the Requium....the orchestral sound is superb,
basses and tenors are exellent. The altos (choirboys) produce a pure sound but a little lacking in emotion but a great CD

Wanted a copy of the Durufle requiem and this was a good recording at a cheap price. The Faure was a bonus.
