This book(NOT written by Prince Charles, he only wrote the introduction) is an absolute gem. Packed with illustrations and stunning photographs, the book takes us on a journey through how animals have contributed to our heritage and folklore. Such as why certain place names are named after animals, how myths came to be attached to them and why various species are revered and some reviled.
This book will enable you to look at our diverse array of nature in an altogether different way. Different from most compendiums on the subject, I would heartily encourage anyone with an interest in animals and/or folklore to own this book and cherish it.
