The lives of two strangers, Greg Jenkins and Megan Brighton, become inextricably entangled when they each sign up for a dinner dating agency. Greg's reason for joining has nothing to do with looking for love. His recently divorced sister Sam has disappeared and Greg is convinced that Dinner for Twelve, or at least one of its clients, may be responsible. Neither is Megan looking for love. Although single, she only joined at her best friend Brenda De Luca's insistence. When a client of the dating agency is murdered, suspicion falls on several of the members. Then Megan's friend Brenda disappears without trace, and Megan and Greg join forces. Will they find Sam and Brenda, or are they about to step into the same inescapable snare?

5.0 out of 5 stars Fatal Liaison 15 Aug 2011
By BigAl TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
I've read all of Vicki Tyley's books, and all have several qualities in common. All are thrillers or mysteries with multiple suspects or potential resolutions. I've always been convinced each of the primary suspects was guilty at some point, yet the ending still catches me off guard. Tyley's ability to plot a story is the envy of many of her peers. "Fatal Liaison" keeps this streak alive.

I thought the premise of the story, that someone is targeting women using the dating service, was clever and unique. The service is one of those that brings many people together in a bar or restaurant to mingle and, potentially, follow up by actually dating. The large number of people each woman might have met or been targeted by, all of whom are potential suspects, meant the story had many directions it could go. If you've read and liked Tyley's previous books, you're sure to feel the same about this one. If you haven't, "Fatal Liaison" would make an excellent first read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast-paced Aussie whodunnit 12 Sep 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Vicki Tyley is the Queen of the Aussie mystery thriller. Fatal Liaison is a polished, pacy read full of twists and turns. As usual, I didn't guess the villain. I'm not quite sure how she manages to throw me off the scent every time.

Greg and Megan sign up separately for a dating agency that organises dinner parties for hopeful singles in Melbourne. Each has an ulterior motive. Their lives become entangled in a life-and-death race to find two missing people dear to them.

I can recommend this thriller to anyone who likes a puzzle wrapped up in an adventure ... except, if you are single and currently a member of a dating club, Fatal Liaison might put you off the hunt for romance for a good long while.

2.0 out of 5 stars obligations 15 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I read a lot of books and I tend to read them quickly, so I rely quite strongly on the reviews here at Amazon. The reviews on the whole are pretty accurate and I rarely end up being disappointed with my choices. However, Fatal Liaison was a very big disappointment and so to prevent other people having similar experiences, I feel it is my duty to add my review to the others. The book is simplistic with dull, mind numbing descriptions of inane items. It is as if the author is trying to fill up or pad out the pages. The plot is contrived and does not flow smoothly. The overall impression is that plot has been made up as we go along. Unfortunately the characters do not win my respect so overall it was a chore to finish the book. However, a big thank you to all book reviewers as you are a very helpful and normally reliable means of choosing and enjoying books

3.0 out of 5 stars Fatal Liason
Enjoyable but not gripping. Characters not particularly strong. Plot was weak and predictable. However for a light read on holiday it is adequate.

Really good read. Kept in suspense from the outset. Liked how it did not start unraveling until towards the end. Would recommend this book to any of my friends.
