" Fatal Impact " 17 Jan. 2001
By A Customer - Published on
Format: Paperback
Fatal Impact is an ingeniously written first time novel by Leahanna Cooper.
Using a mysterious narrator to tell the story is an idea that hasn't been used in many, many decades and is very refreshing. The story's characters and dialog are clear, crisp and entirely believeable. The narrative is explicit and gives you a brilliant picture of where you are in the story and with whom you are dealing.
I must say, I haven't read anything this good in a very long time.
Leahanna Cooper is most definitely NOT a copycat writer. Her ideas are entirely different and you can actually see that the story came from her heart and soul...not just her head.
With strong hopes of a sequal to this book, (and anxiously awaiting her second) I feel this is a must read. If you desire a book that you just cannot put down; if you are looking for a novel that makes you 'want' to turn the page...this is the book for you.
Ohio Resident Thoroughly Excited 9 Jan. 2004

I was very pleased when I read this new author's book, "Fatal Impact." It's about a 20 year old young woman who's parents are killed by a drunk driver. Her dad's assoicate, Ted, takes advantage of Cassandra through the means of ritual magic, and nearly killing Cassandra. What he and his evil postulants do not realize, is that Casey (as she is called) has a best friend and a new love who actually love and care about her. However, Casey must endure illness of body and mind before she is rescued.
The plot thickens as the story goes along, and there is a rather neet surprise element...the naration of the story by someone who's protective elements are most important.
I had a great time reading this novel, and hope to see Ms Cooper's newest work. Is there a new novel by her being written? If not, why not? Will they make a movie of this one? I sure hope so. It'll certainly scare the pants off people and make them think twice about things of the occult. I know I'd buy a ticket to see the movie. It's just too bad I haven't seen more reviews in here. Her sales standings are not good, and I don't understand why this book is not one on the best sellers or at least up there towards the top. I also believe it's catagorized improperly. It should not be under Horror should be a 'thriller' because it is.
I usually don't wirte reviews about any books I've read, but 28 Oct. 2001

This book has proved to be something special to me. Since I do
appreciate a good novel, I must say I've never read a first timers book.
I was pleasently surprised when this book was given to me as a gift by one of my friends.
Leahanna Cooper is a writer with a natural instinct, however I do not see any other books by this lady for sale. Has she written any more? If not, maybe she doesn't have the time because of working? Whatever the case may be, I hope she manages to find time to take full advantage of her talent. I would be the first in line to make the purchase. You would think a larger publisher would pick up on this.
"Fatal Impact" was great reading. Where are those big publishers when there is another good writer out there.
California Reader is Pleased With What She Read 9 Jan. 2004

Format: Paperback
As an avid reader of more than 15 books per year, I have never swayed from the best of the best. However, a friend of mine told me about "Fatal Impact" and it caught my attention.
All I can say is that I certainly hope this writer plans on another book soon or writes a sequel to this one. I was very much surprised and totally pleased with Cooper's writing style. I have been under the impression that only the most popular writers 'knew how to write'. I can honestly say that I was not correct in this assumption. Cooper has a great style and I hope to see more of her work.
