Very good compact device ideal for the one man band. Guitar and vocals. Very easy to use and set up. Remember you have to have mic with a 48v phantom type plug

Far from being an expert, I'm just an amateur musician trying to learn to play the guitar with GarageBand. Initially, I plugged my electric guitar directly to my Mac Pro with the audio line-in input. It does work, but the sound is squashed and not very musical. With the M-Audio Fast Track, I just connect the guitar to the audio interface plugged to one the computer's USB ports. On the Mac, all you have to do is remember to select the Fast Track input 2 as your sound input for the guitar in GarageBand. No drivers or software to install. It just works and the sound is really good now. A worthy investment.

This product works great with the bundled software; as it say it has near zero latency and it sounds good. However the only other software that i have used it with (and the one that i wanted it most for) is Ableton Live. With live i am experiencing some quite appalling latency problems which for recording purposes it isnt that big a deal, it makes live looping even more difficult than before. and before anyone else thinks it i have spent several hours trying to resolve the problem using abletons settings but to no avail.
Anyone wanting a simple home recording device will be very pleased with this product as the bundled software is great, but its only getting 3 stars because of this, i feel quite large draw back.

nice piece of kit
Arrived quickly, plugged it into the Mac and speakers and it does what it says on the tin - very impressed for the price and would recommend to anyone
